What is an ILA?
An ILA is an Individual Learning Account. It is a government
scheme to help pay for the learning of your choice.
Different learning programmes are eligible for either
20% or 80% discounts.
To
claim discounts, you must first open an account by
completing an ILA Application Form and sending it
to The Individual Learning Account Centre. You will
then be sent an Account Card with your ILA Membership
Number which you use to register for our learning
programmes.
Can
I open an ILA?
If you are aged 19 or over, you can open an ILA. They
are available to everyone. Use of your ILA is at the
discretion of the ILA Centre.
What
discount can I claim for a Code Skills learning programme?
The learning programmes offered by Code Skills can
lead to users gaining the BTEC Foundation Award in
Information Technology Desktop Skills (link). Programmes
leading to this qualification are eligible for an
80% discount towards the cost of your online learning.
This means that the government will pay £200
of the £250 learning programme fees to Code
Skills. You are asked to contribute the remaining
£50. We require £25 as an initial deposit
and a further £25 after six months of learning.
You
do not have to pass the qualification to claim your
discount you may decide just to develop your
desktop skills without attempting the BTEC Award,
or you may wish to gain the qualification to certificate
the level you have reached its your choice.
